The WaterWealth Project, based in Chilliwack, BC, is a volunteer-driven, non-partisan effort striving to boost the voices of community members passionate about their surroundings, nature, and the life-giving waters.
We seek long-term solutions for freshwater protection, focusing on local communities’ power to influence their water wealth decisions, always acknowledging First Nations rights and title.
Water is more than a resource; it’s a lifeline. Beyond financial gains in sectors like agriculture, fishing, and tourism, fresh and clean flowing water nourishes the land, food, and life-support systems that all creatures rely on.
However, our shared waters face severe threats like climate change, urbanization, pollution, harmful practices in agriculture, forestry, and mismanaged mining. The WaterWealth Project’s goal is to take a fresh, all-encompassing approach to economic well-being, laying the foundation for vibrant communities. We understand that our actions today shape our future, and without a collective effort, that future could be uncertain.
